This Privacy Policy is informed by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the Netherlands and defines how Janita Janssen Yoga uses and discloses your personal information when you register, purchase or subscribe to our services. By accepting the terms of our Privacy Policy,  you give consent for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information in accordance with this policy, which is to be read in conjunction with our Cookie Policy and General Terms and Conditions.

 

1. Personal Information 

Personal Information is information that specifically identifies an individual end user of the service, such as name, address, telephone number and email address.  It also includes information about the individual’s preferences, his/her activity on the subscription service as well as demographic information such as gender and geographic area.

Our service is only available to persons over the age of 18 years who consent to giving us the information requested.  Should we unknowingly have collected information from children younger than 18 years and made aware of it, we will delete such information immediately.  We encourage parents to be vigilant and protect younger children from accessing or giving information on the internet.

 

We use your personal information for the following:

  • to provide your personal access to our digital platform.

  • To maintain, enhance and solve any difficulties accessing the digital platform.

  • To prevent unauthorised or fraudulent access to the service and take the necessary legal action should a violation occur.

  • To enhance your experience by tailoring content and advertisement by communicating information that you may find of interest.

  • To maintain a record of your interaction with the Janita Janssen Yoga as well as other administrative functions such as membership and payment cycles.

  • To communicate necessary information to third party service providers specifically relating to workshops and retreats, which may be legally necessary to facilitate reservations and cater to specific dietary and/or medical needs.

  • To collate a database of past and present clients with whom to communicate and market any upcoming events, retreats, classes, workshops or training courses offered by Janita Janssen Yoga.

  • To facilitate digital payments by means of third-party financial services providers.

 

2. Collection of information

2.1 Voluntarily provided information

Personal information is voluntarily provided by the client and includes, but is not limited 

to:

  • Newsletters: when you provide your email address, Janita Janssen Yoga may from time to time use this email address to send newsletters about the service.  You may, at any time, opt out of receiving such newsletters, but we will continue to communicate administrative emails to your email address.

  • User Accounts / Profiles: Our digital subscription requires you to create a personal profile / user account to allow you to download content you subscribe to. The information provided here includes your personal details and preferences as well as your user name and password.  You agree to allow Janita Janssen Yoga to access and store the credentials you provide to use and disclose according to this policy.  Should you at any time cancel your subscription or close your account, Janita Janssen Yoga will endeavor to delete your personal information as soon as is practically possible and will retain information deemed legally necessary.

  • Correspondence: When you contact us by email (janitajanssenyoga@gmail.com)  or through our website www.janitajanssenyoga.com, we collect the personal information contained therein and use this information to respond to your correspondence. 

  • Promotions: Janita Janssen Yoga or any of our business partners or sponsors, may from time to time launch promotions or events which you can choose to participate in.  Personal information provided for such promotions may be collected and stored by the third party, business partner or sponsor in accordance with their privacy policy.

  • Payments: Your credit/debit card details, bank account details (if applicable) and related personal information is collected and shared with third party payment facilitation sites.

 

2.2 Passive information

Information is passively collected from the subscriber/user.

  • Passive information is collected using technology for example server logs, cookies and web beacons and we use this information to administer, operate and improve our digital offering.

  • We automatically retain certain information such as your browser’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, your browser type, the nature of the device you are using, and the identifier of handheld devices as well as your interaction with our digital communication (email).

  • Should your personal information by any means be consolidated with passive information, we will treat the collective information according GDPR legislation.  When passive information cannot be personally identified, we use this information in aggregate form.

  • When visitors leave comments on the site or any of our related social media channels, for example Facebook or Instagram, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

  • If you upload images to the site or any of our related social media channels, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

  • Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

  • When you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

  • Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

 

3. Disclosure of personal information 

We will not disclose your personal information to a third party without your prior consent, unless in the following circumstances:

 

  • We may disclose personal information to the service providers that we contract in order to fulfil our offering to you.  This includes, but is not limited to, payment processors, data storage and processing providers, who are required by Janita Janssen Yoga to maintain and protect the confidentiality of personal information.

  • We may disclose personal information should it be legally required to protect our property or legal rights, or the rights of others as well as the security of our digital platform.

  • Personal information will be transferred to any entity legally entitled to such information during a merger, acquisition, sale or restructuring of the Janita Janssen Yoga as part of the business’ assets.

  • Should we host an event or workshop that is sponsored by a third party, personal information relevant to the event will be shared to enhance your experience.  Janita Janssen Yoga will, however, never sell personal information to a third party.

 

4. Social media or other links

Should a link be included in any of our correspondence or through our digital platform, you agree that by clicking this link to another website or social media site, the information you provide there will not be governed by this privacy policy and that Janita Janssen Yoga is in no way responsible for the information you disclose.  We encourage you to review the applicable policies associated with each website or social media site where you provide personal information.

 

5. Location of data storage and transfer

Our service providers, internet subscriptions and data storage facilities are located in the Netherlands.  Should you subscribe to our service from outside the European Union, please be aware of the fact that your information is stored in the Netherlands and that the applicable Dutch legislation applies to the storage of such information.  We also transfer data and information to other regions, based on the subscriber’s location and this information may be governed by the local authorities in that region.

 

6. Cookies

When you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
 

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

7. Retention period of personal data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
 

For users that register on our site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Site administrators can also see and edit that information.

Information provided in regard to retreat or workshop participation will be retained for a period of 24 months after completion of such activity.

 

8. Your rights regarding personal information

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we retain about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can request that we erase any personal data, which does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

 

9. Security

Your security, the security of your information and the integrity of our digital platform is of utmost importance to us.  We use reasonable security measures to protect personal information from loss, destruction, disclosure or misuse, but no security measure is guaranteed to be completely fail proof.  To that end, we cannot warrant the ultimate security of your information, and you provide the information entirely at your own risk.
